SUSTAINABLE CONTACT LENS PACKAGING
That is why all ACUVUE® contact lenses guarantee all paper packaging comes from 100% responsibly managed forests1.
In 2023, we removed the plastic pouches on delivery notices for all our ACUVUE® orders, saving 2.7 tons of plastic each year in the UK2.
REDUCING CO² EMISSIONS
We’re also committed to reducing carbon emissions and protecting water resources by:
- Saving 42,000 tonnes of CO2 per year through renewable and energy efficiency initiatives, equivalent to removing 10,000 cars from the road*3.
- 100% renewable electricity from wind power at our production site in Limerick, Ireland4.
- 88.9% of unused materials at our Vision Care manufacturing sites are recycled5.
- Actively encouraging all ACUVUE® contact lens wearers to not dispose of their lenses down the toilet or sink.
And it doesn’t stop there. 100% of the electricity for Johnson & Johnson Vision’s manufacturing sites across North American and Europe comes from renewable sources – three years ahead of target. As a result, all ACUVUE® brand contact lenses are now made with 100% renewable electricity6.
We’re also on track to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
