Thinking about trying contact lenses? You will need to have an eye examination to ensure your eyes are suitable and healthy. When consulting with your optician for expert advice, please be prepared for associated fees.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR EYE TEST

While the process might vary from practice to practice, it helps to feel fully prepared before you visit your optician. Remember if you already wear glasses or contact lenses, you will need to bring them with you to your appointment.

First, your optician will ask you a few simple questions and will talk you through the best options for your eyes and lifestyle.

Then, your optician will examine your vision as well as taking the necessary measurements to determine your prescription.

Next, your optician will fit your lenses and check that they fit your eyes properly to ensure that they stay comfortable.

Finally, they will show you how to handle them (apply/remove) and will explain everything you need to know about proper contact lens care.

TRIALLING YOUR CONTACT LENSES

We know that getting your new contact lenses might be a little daunting at first but with a little bit of practice, you will build your confidence with contact lenses in no time at all.

FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS

Proper care, frequent replacement of your lenses and regular check-ups with your optician are an important part of maintaining your good vision and eye health so you can get the most out of your contact lenses. Even if you don’t experience any problems with your eyes, regular routine eye exams are always recommended.
