WEARING CONTACT LENSES
At ACUVUE® our customers have always been our number one priority, and during these uncertain times, our thoughts are with you and your families.
In light of recent developments regarding coronavirus, we wanted to provide you with additional information about contact lenses.
As we all navigate this new way of life, we will continue to reach out to you through our online channels offering information, guidance and support.
HOW TO SAFELY CONTINUE
WEARING CONTACT LENSES
Contact lenses can be worn safely while preventing potential contamination by following proper contact lens care instructions given by your optician, which include thoroughly washing, cleaning, and drying your hands prior to handling contact lenses. Detailed information on this can be found on the cleaning & care link below.
CLEANING & CARE
Whether you use daily disposable or reusable contact lenses, keeping up with proper hygiene when handling your contact lenses is as important as it has ever been. As always, wash your hands with antibacterial soap and hot water, then dry your hands before putting on or taking off your contact lenses.
Access the official guidelines from the World Health Organisation on the link below.
IF YOU ARE ILL
It is recommended to wear glasses instead of contact lenses until you get better, as your eyes may feel more uncomfortable than normal and you might be sleeping more which is not recommended to be done while wearing contact lenses. If you wear daily disposable lenses, continue disposing of them after each use as you would normally. If you wear reusable contact lenses, it is always recommended to start with a fresh pair after your illness to ensure any microbes do not remain on your lenses.
KEEPING UP WITH YOUR SUPPLIES
Be rest assured that we will continue to supply ACUVUE® contact lenses for you to source through your optician, to ensure that you don’t run out of your lenses.
While the best course of action has been to close physical store locations to limit in-person interaction, most practices will be offering support online, or by email or phone. If you have a valid prescription, please visit your optician’s website where you may be able to reorder or contact them directly for more information.
