SARA COX, RADIO AND TV PERSONALITY IS WEARING 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST BRAND MULTIFOCAL CONTACT LENSES
Sara Cox, radio and television personality is wearing 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST MULTIFOCAL Contact Lenses.
Presbyopia is a normal change within the eye. Over time, the lens inside the eye loses its flexibility. It’s a gradual process which we tend to notice when we can’t focus clearly for our usual close tasks – reading a text message for example. We commonly experience it in our forties, and although this change in lens flexibility is frustrating, it’s also perfectly normal.
When Presbyopia arrives, multifocal contact lenses can provide you with the freedom to see clearly at all distances, without you having to worry about using additional glasses to compensate for this change in your vision.
In the past, Presbyopia signalled the onset of needing reading spectacles over contact lenses or a compromise in visual quality – in fact many people stopped wearing contact lenses all together. Now, many existing contact lens wearers can continue to enjoy the same benefits of contact lens wear that they always have done.
The 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST MULTIFOCAL Contact Lens has a unique design which will fit in with your own individual lifestyle requirements ensuring you maintain the clear vision you want for distance, near and everything in between.
For Sara, a normal day is “a mish mash of work, children, gym, hook up with mates..”
1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST MULTIFOCAL Contact Lenses have a unique design which will fit in with your own individual ‘mish mash’ of activities and allow you to see clearly for all distances. Whether, that’s a screen at work, doing a jigsaw with the children, watching television on the treadmill at the gym or simply reading the menu for lunch, the unique, pupil optimised design of 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST MULTIFOCAL allows you to see near, far and in-between without reading or varifocal glasses.
For many of you, this will be the end of the first chapter in your contact lens story. Regular reviews should take place as your story evolves. Prescriptions will change, lifestyles can alter and lens wearing habits can change, regular interactions with your Eye Care Practitioner can ensure that whatever twists your story takes, you are always in the lens that best suits you. Many practices will conveniently send your lenses to your home every month when you sign up to their direct debit schemes, and you can often receive lots of other additional offers on spectacles and sunglasses for example.

This lens gives all day comfort and protection too, as it’s not just about the vision. The exclusive LACREON® technology from ACUVUE® embeds a moisture-rich wetting agent in the lens for a fresh feeling every day and the lens provides UV protection , helping protect your eyes from the transmission of UV radiation*.
Voted Contact Lens Product Of The Year 2016, by Optician magazine, the 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST MULTIFOCAL lens is the one to wear.
Sara said from her experience: “you don’t know that you are wearing them, you don’t feel like you are wearing them”
Fitting contact lenses is a little like the first chapter in a story. Your story, or journey, into successful contact lens wear will be personalised just for you.
All contact lens fittings require a valid eye examination prescription, as this will provide the most accurate starting point for your contact lens fitting. During the examination, you may find that you get asked lots of questions – you may not always see their relevance - but trust that your Eye Care Practitioner is using all of this information and building a picture of your individual needs. Assessments for contact lens fitting will always include a thorough eye health assessment.
To most patients, all contact lenses will look the same, but they can be very different and your Practitioner will understand this fully. It is important that the front of your eye is checked so that the best contact lens material can be recommended to suit your individual eyes.
The best contact lens for you is the one which meets your individual requirements and this recommendation can be made from your prescription and the discussions you have alongside the health assessments. Depending on this outcome, the best contact lens for you may need to be ordered and you may have to return for another visit.
This contact lens will then be fitted for you and it will be assessed to ensure that it is fitting as it should. Vision will also be checked at this point. Your Practitioner may explain that your vision may change over the initial period as your eyes adapt to this new way of seeing!
Before you can take the lenses away and experience them in your own real world, you will need to be taught how to handle the lenses safely. Like tying shoelaces, putting the lenses in and out can take longer at first, but it gets much quicker with practice and becomes second-nature.
You will need to build up the wearing time gradually at first to allow your eyes to adapt to contact lens wear. Your Eye Care Practitioner will schedule a time to review the lens performance, usually in a week or two, when you have had chance to experience the lenses for a while. This allows you to fully experience what contact lens wear will be like in your ‘real world’.
At ACUVUE® our aim is to make wearing contact lenses as easy, healthy and comfortable as it can be.
