BETTER DAYS ARE IN SIGHT

As we are beginning to adjust to this new way of living and working, we wanted to share a few ideas to help you make the most of every moment this summer.

NEW ROUTINES & THE BENEFITS OF CONTACT LENSES

From the moment you put your contact lenses on, you can experience your surroundings in a different way, and this positive change may really improve the quality of your day. Whatever you’ve got planned for the summer, there are many moments where wearing contact lenses can continue to benefit you:

SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Ready for a much-needed weekend break with your family or friends? Whether you’re relaxing at the beach or exploring the countryside, contact lenses can allow you to see clearly without glasses. There is no need to worry about them slipping off or getting in the way especially if both hands are full with your shopping bags.

HOME IMPROVEMENTS

Creating a comfortable home environment is a good way to focus your energy in a way that can drastically improve your mood. If you’re planning to do some DIY and gardening, wearing contact lenses can be a good alternative to glasses, because you can wear them under your sunglasses or protective goggles.

BAKING & COOKING

Found a new passion for cooking or baking? Been practising your skills now you have more time at home? Contact lenses can allow you to see clearly without glasses and there is no need to worry about them steaming up or slipping off when you’re using the oven, or preparing your ingredients.

MAKE UP & DRESSING UP

Do not underestimate how much applying a smudge of eyeshadow for a video call or putting on some stylish accessories can impact your daily routine in a positive way. With contact lenses, you can still enjoy looking your best, which is especially important, if it helps you to feel a little more like yourself.

INDOOR & OUTDOOR EXERCISE

Keeping up or starting good exercise habits is always beneficial. From jogging and cycling, to yoga and weight training, when taking part in everyday activities, wearing contact lenses can do more than improve your vision. They help you to move freely without the worry of your glasses slipping off if you decide to pick up the pace.

POSITIVE STEPS

Following on from the government updates, many local opticians have now reopened their doors to provide in-store appointments, which means you should be able to schedule an appointment if you need to.

As always, your optician will be more than happy to see you if you have any concerns about your eye health including contact lenses and feel you would benefit from visiting them in-person. This means you can now visit your optician if you need to check your prescription, purchase more lenses, or have any questions or concerns relating to:

WHAT YOU COULD EXPECT WHEN VISITING YOUR OPTICIAN

To help you prepare, here are a few ways in which your visit to see your Optician may have changed since re-opening:

  • There could be a “closed door policy” to comply with social distancing guidance – so only visit when you have a confirmed appointment
  • There could be a pre-appointment phone call, to reduce time in the practice
  • If you can, only attend the practice on your own, to help control the number of people in the practice
  • Your optician may ask you to wear a mask, so please bring one if possible
  • The waiting area will be arranged to allow social distancing
  • Staff will be wearing PPE, which may include: gloves, face mask, eye protection/face shield, apron
  • There may be screens in front of reception desks
  • There could be hand sanitiser stations throughout the practice
  • Trying on spectacles may be a little different as all frames need to be sanitised after trying on. This may mean a selection of frames are brought to you instead of the usual browsing
