What is nearsightedness?

Nearsightedness is also known as short sightedness or myopia. It is so-called because you can clearly see things that are close up whilst distant objects are less clear. So for example, reading will be easier than watching television.

Nearsightedness is very common and it may affect you during your everyday life such as whilst driving, exercising at the gym, playing sports or even trying to recognise someone.

How do I know if I am nearsighted?

If you think you may be nearsighted, book an eye examination appointment with an optician. The will examine your eyes and advise you on the best vision correction options available for you.
