What are aspheric contact lenses?

Aspheric contact lenses are used for a variety of reasons. They are sometimes prescribed for people with a small amount of astigmatism or where someone has begun to experience presbyopia, a condition that affects people over 40 years of age where by focusing on near objects becomes harder. They are also sometimes used in an attempt to reduce haloes and blur around lights.
